Its hard to put down just a few thoughts, I’ve written just 8, as this revelation runs deeper than a few blog lines, but I wanted to share some truths that I hope will provoke questions in worship leaders and musicians, and not just settle for anything less than this kind of worship experience every Sunday in our churches. The kind where Jesus is revealed and released.

1. WORSHIP IS NOT SO MUCH ABOUT GIVING TO GOD, BUT RECEIVING FROM HIM
   The most intimate place of worship is simply a downloading from heaven, where He reminds and assures us of our righteousness, His love, protection and full supply. It’s receiving all you need in that moment, putting the burden on Him and us resting in Him.
   
   
2. HE DOESN’T CALL US SERVANTS, BUT SONS AND DAUGHTERS
   Jesus came to reveal God as our Father. He has servants called angels. We are his children, His beloved. So we come boldy with our need of Him, just like a child. HE is the giver, WE are the receivers of His supply.
   
   
3. THERE’S NO TRUE WORSHIP WITHOUT FIRST RECEIVING THE REVELATION OF THE FINISHED WORK OF JESUS
   Knowing Who we are in Christ is the starting point of any worship experience. It’s all because of Jesus that we can stand with the veil being torn, with direct access to a throne of GRACE, not conditions.
   
   
4. OUR POSTURE OF WORSHIP ISN’T FACEDOWN, BUT LOOKING UNTO JESUS
   As we BEHOLD Him, we are transformed into His likeness, not by our effort, but by His Spirit. He wants us to see Jesus in the sufficiency of His perfect sacrifice. Worship isn’t about our sacrifice, but HIS.
   
   
5. WORSHIP IS OUR ‘TRUE NORTH
   Designed by God, initiated by Him, so we would always find ‘home’, we would always find HIM. Whether we are saved or unsaved, God designed a vacuum only He could fill in all of humanity.  When we draw near and let Him love on us, set us right again, remind us who we are, assure us and find rest in a restless world, this is our spirits ‘home’. Our true north.
   
   
6. IT’S ALL ABOUT HIS GOODNESS, NOT HOW GOOD WE ARE
   In worship we become aware of his righteousness, not our weakness; His unconditional love for us, not our imperfect and wavering love for Him. It’s not our performance that makes us great worship leaders and musicians, it’s our ability to see Jesus and help those that were leading to see Him too.
   
   
7. SONGS OF WORSHIP EITHER PUT PEOPLE UNDER BONDAGE OR RELEASES THEM INTO FREEDOM & GRACE
   We already stand under an open heaven, we’ve already been set free, we have His fullness, His spirit, His presence, so why sing songs that suggest we don’t have them yet. If we are in Christ, we sing and play with the revelation of a finished, complete work. It’s already done.
